L5 demo payload

Engineers at the GPS Wing considered the two basic factors of risk management, probability of occurrence and resultant consequences, as they initiated the L5 Demo project. Working with contractor teams, they successfully overcame obstacles to securing GPS's frequency allocation for the L5 signal, brought about by delays to the first planned L5-capable space vehicle launch.

Gps insights amp;mdash; early january 2009

It really seems a shame to call the Ricoh Caplio 500SE-M GPS Tactical Digital Camera simply a camera. Innovation: improving dilution of precision

GPS receivers must deal with measurements and models that have some degree of error, which gets propagated into the position solution. If the errors are systematically different for the different simultaneous pseudoranges, as is typically the case when trying to correct for ionospheric and tropospheric effects, these errors propagate into the receiver solution in a way that is fundamentally.

Gps insights — early june, 2008

For war fighters, if you were to link the GPS and Wi-Fi systems seamlessly in a device, then they would have a position within a second or two of turning on that device, no matter where they were located, indoor or out, as long as a Wi-Fi signal was available. And Wi-Fi hotspots are plentiful in Bagdad, for instance.

Perspectives amp;mdash; early june 2008

This may be the most important column I've ever written. It's certainly the most expensive. At $40,000 worth of equipment for this writer, multiplied by 17,346 readers, we're talking $694 million.
